Status Updates from Facebook, #1:

Amy would like to suggest that the simile using "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" retire itself to the active seniors village of overused comparisons.

I am normally very rigid and follow the APA manual exactly, but a certain rule made me curious when I saw it applied differently in an article I am editing (regarding multiple references by the same author in the same year but in a specific chronology, dates provided), so I looked on the APA style blog, and sure enough one person used this way of organizing the references. So I wrote a note to the PE to show where I found this rule and why I am leaving the author's references that way.

I don't really understand why the APA can't address certain things like this in the manual or, if everything can't go in the manual, why a specific online site can't be designated to address these types of situations. I had to search for twenty minutes to ensure that I found the best example/rule. *huff*

Been writing more found poems from catalogs. Not saying they are that good. Just writin'

We set out for that last espresso,
central Europe restaurant,
vintage wine in antique glass.
This spring woven of
flowering branches.
We admire the hallmark
of small crafted coffees.

A beautifully romantic
Brooklyn, bridge, mercury
surf crashing, rocks,
so many distressed, dividing,
curvy, heart shaped,
a pathway piled up,
through you.

Garland.
Drape or weave
your wet swimsuits after
the sea. Your dearest postcards,
laughing boys, faces of life.
Feel fresh air and color,
flowers at the beach
house porch, honey,
turquoise, almost fruits.

Sunburst off mercury glass
reflects some light off
your hand, on your windowsill,
spring porch, beautiful
as a driftwood cross.

Another fabulous evening with Mom and Vi listening to Chanticleer perform their Out of This World program, this time in the space that is the Temple of Dendur at the Met. The slanted wall of glass carried the cold rain quickly down, and the room was cool. The music was beautiful, as always, and the modern pieces were fun and eclectic.

Chanticleer sang "Island in Space" by Kirke Mechem, which takes some lyrics from one of my favorite astronaut quotes (by Russell Schweickart, NJ native!!) ... so great! I also liked their version of "Cells Planets" (brought me to thinking of Roland Orzabal). And all their Ave Regina Caelorums were angelic.

On the way home we passed the Rose Center, that glass square glowing blue, Saturn and the planets hanging in a hypersleep. A perfect view to end the night.
