Yes, this is usually a blog about my creative writing, but as I have nothing to report, today I am making it my hairstyle changes exemplified through the use of celebrity images blog.

A long time ago, I chose a hairstyle that was simple, easy, and a bit granola. And I stuck with it for years. Years, people. Here we have Sandra Bullock modeling something like what I'm describing, although I have a lighter mousy color:

Recently I decided that I needed a change. After talking with my groovy hairdresser, we came up with a layered thing, rather retro if I do say so. I like it a lot, and I've had many positive comments sent my way. It reminds me of an 80s Kristy cut, rather like this, but with less sharp layers and down more at the shoulders:

Next week I get full highlights for that sunkissed summer glow. Eventually I think I'd like to shoot for this Jodie look:

While I'm at it, here's a spring photo I just took. Nothing to do with hair, but pretty all the same.

Another rejection in the mail. A fiction piece that I wrote quite a long time ago was nicely stamped out:

"We regret we are unable to use and hence are returning the enclosed manuscript."

And then, a paragraph later, my favorite part:

"We attach a subscription/rate sheet should you be interested in purchasing copies of XXXX journal."

Yes, I will be sending a fat check to subscribe to your periodical now that you have returned my fiction submission posthaste. Merci.

I just don't understand the rejection/subscription ploy. Seriously, is anyone rejected really going to subscribe to that publication?

Susceptible from the letdown of the rebuff, little Sally opens her register and scribbles a tear-stained check for a quarterly reminder of the type of publication that wouldn't print her work.
