Sentence in something I edited:

"People who spontaneously view challenges as learning opportunities rather than threats; who think about chores in a positive rather than in a distressing manner; who think in ways that promote effective action; who are trusting of others but not naively so; who live in the present, plan for the future, and do not dwell on the past; who are realistically but not unreasonably optimistic; and who automatically think in a wide variety of more constructive ways than others tend to be more successful than others in all aspects of living."

Well, crap, why didn't someone tell me that in middle school???
